The hills are alive with the sound of music! This is certainly true within Paxos during 22nd August and 3rd September, 2016. This year the island comes together to celebrate the island’s 29th Annual International Music Festival.

Music will fill the summer air from some of the most talented and upcoming classical musicians. This is one of the most exciting and exhilarating times to visit Paxos.

Taking place in Loggos, the festival also provides the opportunity for some of the most engaging and talented young players emerging in the UK to develop their skills. The festival is in conjunction with Greek and other international musicians. Paxos is the perfect location due to it’s beautifully clear waters, beautiful flowers and greenery and coastal villages.

You can expect to see string quartets and accomplished pianists playing pieces by distinguished famous composers such as Schubert and Mozart. This fantastic festival also calls for some new works and pieces are often commissioned especially for the festival. It is a real treat for locals and vistors alike.

This year the event boasts an an ambitious program based around concerts featuring the Benyounes Quartet and the product of choral workshops.

A great treat for music lovers or those fond of a lively atmosphere, the Paxos Music Festival is a burst of culture that will get your toes tapping and your fingers drumming into the night.
